A full, rounded, well made wine with lots of mid palate fruit weight and repeating length. A very nice surprise from The Barossa.
Dark chocolate, licorice, violets, blossom, cherry and blueberry.
Brandy snap and truffle.
Full, round and weighty. Good acid balance on a firm fruit finish showing cherry, brandy and chocolate. Swallow and wait for the chocolate to return. Yummy.
Goes well tomato based pasta and roasted game, in particular duck. Also consume with winter "comfort foods" such as Irish Stew or Goulash.
Will cellar well up to 8 years of age.
