Our Comments...

Cool climate Chardonnay matured in oak (4 Stars Winestate Magazine). This is a nicely balanced wine with generous fruit and tight structure. Our second Chardonnay from the Southern Fleurieu and showing clear regional similarities with our unwooded cleanskin #11 2006 Southern Fleurieu Chardonnay (despite being sourced from a different winery, being a year older and having full oak maturation). A complex wine made with smart oak and showing a range of appealing characters. A great winter white!

Complex white pear, grapefruit, lemon, orange blossom with flinty mineral undertones.

Oak.

Well integrated complex oak. Savoury, nutty, toffee glaze and hints of coconut.

Palate.

Well balanced complex fruit, firm oak tannins without hardness, clean and dry on the palate with lingering grapefruit.

Food Matching...

Well suited to be consumed with the main meal of the day. Made for home roasted chicken, quiche Lorraine or baked snapper.

Cellaring Potential...

Great now and will cellar well up to six years of age.
