Our second offering from Langhorne Creek. A rich wine, initially understated but developing wonderfully in the glass. This wine is a 2003 which in our opinion is the appropriate age to release red table wine. The wine has a distinctive varietal Cabernet Sauvignon nose, is complex, rich and tight on the palate with generous texture and flavour length. Good wine in any context and at our price is exceptional value, enjoy!
Purple red with brick tints.
Black currant, dark chocolate, basil and mint over black pepper, freshly turned earth and green olive hints.
Vanillan, butterscotch and coffee.
The fruit tends to plummy on the palate with a tight, chewy texture over a firm finish and followed by lingering fruit.
Consume with hard cheese and dried fruits in particular prunes, dates and raisins on the stem. Add a selection of dried/fermented meats; aged Salami (Sopressa), Prosciutto or even Beef Jerky (good quality Jerky can now be found in Australian fine food shops) with some crusty bread for a light lunch. Alternativley for a wholesome main meal try rabbit Cacciatore.
Up to six years of age.
