At last we have found a Riesling (87 Points from James Halliday) at our price point and it is from The Clare Valley to boot! We have been offered very few Rieslings over the last 12 months and none have been acceptable. This wine makes the grade but we have only secured a small number of cases so the wine will not be available for long.
Pale yellow with green tints.
Mineral, pear and lime. Hints of cloves, talcum powder and blossom.
Steely lemon sours with hints of orange rind over an aged lime finish. Consume very cold.
Consume with chicken breast (seared or poached) well garnished with sea salt and served on a bed potato mash and steamed beans. Try also with blue cheese and crackers or dried fruits and nuts (apricots and walnuts especially).
Unless you are a fan of aged Riesling drink now.
