A rich wine showing plenty of volume on the nose and good palate weight. The Grenache that went into this wine is the stand out component, it dominates despite being the minor party in the blend (40%). The oak handling is moderate producing a full robust fruit driven style without hard oak tannins. This is a food wine that is currently drinking well and will continue to drink well for some time.
Well integrated black currant and plums with flint overtones.
Again well integrated but showing moderate charry tar and coffee with some vanillian and cedar hints.
Good flavour weight (fleshy). Plum brandy and dark chocolate with a chalky drying finish.
Goes very well with strong red meat dishes in particular roast lamb.
Continues to drink well and will cellar for at least another two years.
