Light in structure this wine is made in an easy drinking style. The wine has an attractive fruit nose, gentle flavour and the aroma displays distinct varietal and regional characters. A small quantity of air from decanting or standing builds the volume. Moderately oaked this wine develops well in the glass to show surprising complexity.
Cherry, black currant, figs and spearmint. Also some earthy Coonawarra undertones.
Moderate oak influence, toffee and caramel.
Moderate weight, chewy tannins and light strawberry fruit on a tangy acid finish.
Goes well with antipasto, soft cheeses, cold meats and other hors d´ouvre. Drink slightly chilled as an afternoon apéritif.
Drinking well currently and will do so for up to twelve months. Not suited to years of cellaring.
